If you are liable and do not have comprehensive insurance, the damage to your own car will not be reimbursed. The damage to the other party will be.
What if I have damage myself without a third party involved?
Without comprehensive insurance, damage to your own vehicle will not be reimbursed, not even for parking damage or a single-vehicle accident. For that, you need comprehensive coverage, which could have been added when the policy was taken out.
What if the other party is possibly at fault?
You can wait for the liability decision or proceed with repairs at your own expense immediately after an expert inspection. If the liability is acknowledged by the other party, you can then claim the costs afterward.
Should I wait for an expert evaluation before repairing?
Yes, you should always have an expert assessment done before repairing the vehicle if you suspect the other party is at fault.
What if the opposing party disputes the error?
If so, processing may take longer. We follow up on the case and keep you informed in writing every step of the way.
Can I have my car repaired while the claim is still pending?
Yes, you can. Keep in mind that compensation is not possible until liability of opposing party is properly established.
What information is needed to open my file?
A correctly completed and signed European Accident Statement by both parties. Without this, the chance of discussions is high.
Is a replacement car or tow service reimbursed without comprehensive insurance?
In almost all of our policies, towing service is included. The right to a replacement vehicle depends on the chosen assistance module. We will review this for you on a case-by-case basis.
What if there is also physical damage?
Physical damage is handled separately. Always report this immediately so that we can initiate the correct procedure.
