Home burglary or robbery. What does my policy cover?
Damage to building/property and stolen property within policy limits. Declaration required and list of proof (invoices/photos).
Theft from private garage, parking lot or storage area. Covered?
Yes, after forced entry and if the space is private and locked. Valuables may be restricted. Common areas are excluded.
Robbery outside the residence. Is that insured?

What should I do immediately in case of burglary or vandalism?
Ensure safety, call 911 if necessary, report it to the police, take pictures and send us everything in writing.
What documents expedite my file?
Court record, photos of damage/tracks, list of stolen property with proof, recovery quotes or invoices, date and time.
Can I recover before the expert comes?
Emergency repairs for safety can be done, but take photos first. For larger works, waiting for agreement is wiser.
Can I choose between my own repairer and Zurich's repairer?
Yes. With in-house repairmen, you keep direction. We recommend this. Zurich repairmen schedule your own by calling 933 660 777. We monitor your file, not the repair appointments.
Third-party vandalism. Is that covered?
Yes, repair of intentional damage indoors is usually insured. Report it to the police. Exterior graffiti is usually excluded.
Vandalism by tenants. How does it work?
Covered if rental is listed as such in the policy. You need proof of initial condition (photos/inventory). Wear and tear is not covered. Police report is a prerequisite.
Illegal occupation (squatters). Is that included in residential insurance?
No. Damages and eviction are not covered by the residential policy. Legal action is only possible through separate legal assistance against squatters, if you have one.
Are locksmith fees reimbursed?
Yes, in case of lost keys, broken lock or burglary, Zurich will send a locksmith or you can hire one yourself. Opening the door and replacing the lock are insured within the policy limits.
What does GrupoXandra do in complex claims cases?
We review your case thoroughly, request additional info and, if necessary, engage the right people at Zurich or the experts.
Had damage? We'll take care of it for you.
A claim is annoying enough, especially if you are in another country and not everything proceeds in your own language. That's why we make sure that your damage is handled correctly, clearly and as smoothly as possible.
